The challenge
Volume lashing is usually taught over a trainer's shoulder. Written instructions do not show which detail is technique, which is preference, and which is a safety line.
What we did
A Storyline module technicians can pick up between appointments and resume where they stopped. Techniques that are alternatives rather than a sequence open one at a time, as do the safety points — so each is read on its own terms instead of skimmed as a list. The checks ask for the facts the hands depend on, such as how long a natural lash lives and therefore how long a set lasts.

- Safety arranged around a wheel and revealed one number at a time. A list of nine warnings gets skimmed; nine that open individually get read, which matters when one of them is about adhesive near an eyeball.
- Save and exit
- A percent-complete readout on every screen and a resume point, because the audience is fitting training between clients rather than sitting down to it for a day.
