The challenge
A lesson on France can stop at the postcard. The cooking, the food groups, and the way a table is shared still have to be done, or they stay as a list the class never uses.
What we did
A custom HTML5 lesson that treats culture as something you do. Place, food, and the shared table are practised in the same journey, and a short challenge at the end sends a miss back to the idea that taught it. Looking at the country comes first, then working in its kitchen, then hosting someone at the table. The culture and the skill stay in one lesson, and every activity works with a mouse, a finger, or a keyboard.
Project highlights
- 16 scenes
- From the map of France to the café table, with a course menu that jumps to any stop already opened.
- A kitchen, then a table
- Five ingredients sorted into food groups, then a five-step crêpe workshop, then the napkin and the welcome. The lesson is finished by doing the meal, including how it is shared.
- 7 of 10 to pass
- The final challenge states the mark in advance. Each answer carries an explanation, and a miss points back to the scene that taught it.
