The challenge
Knowing the road-safety rules is not the same as reading a road. A course that only tests recall cannot tell the difference.
What we did
A Storyline module of filmed driving scenarios that pause at the moment a decision has to be made. Points are awarded per answer and carried while they are still being earned, so the cost of a choice is visible at the time it is made. The result reports the total and awards badges from the pattern of answers, so two people who both passed do not get the same feedback.

- Safety Champion, Perfect Score and Quick Thinker, awarded from the pattern of answers rather than one pass mark — the result slide says what the learner was good at, not just whether they passed.
